I had to make him turn his light off and go to bed a couple of nights. You have turned him on to reading. I have always fought with him to get him to read.
Trailer Tuesday: Avery’s Battlefield and Avery’s Crossroad
He asked me to buy him another book he could read while he waited for book two. Hope it comes out soon. Thanks again. Not overly long, a moderately easy read for a middle schooler. So-o-o beautifully written. It really makes me appreciate all that I have today. They are wonderful.
Avery and his dog have a series of adventures in what would become the state of West Virginia. The main characters are believable and the story line is told in an entertaining style. The book has Christian overtones that are not overpowering and are successfully woven into the narrative. Book one received a positive review in the Nov issue of CWN. This sequel is excellent as well. It covers the war years The book is considered Christian historical fiction and is a great choice for adolescents.
It provides a wholesome message for young readers while they learn Civil War history. David A. Galli, St. I have read both books myself.
